Dupa ce a schimbat aerul din Detroit cu cel din Nashville, Jack White a considerat ca a venit timpul sa treaca si la un label major, Warner Bros, dupa modelul tuturor idolilor sai. Noul album, Icky Thump, plin de slang britanic, influente scotiene, asezate pe soundul anilor '70, este probabil cel mai bun album The White Stripes. Pe langa primul single Icky Thump, mai recomand piesele You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do as You're Told) si A Martyr for My Love for You, ca sa vedeti cum o trupa formata din doi oameni, Jack si Meg White, poate sa se exprime mai bine si mai consistent decat trupe cu o gramada de componenti inutili.
